Client: Sellar Developments
Sellar Developments appointed Tibbalds as planning advisors to help deliver a significant planning consent on two sites in Canada Water.
The sites, C&E are identified in an Area Action Plan for redevelopment. The nature and the scale of development envisaged by the AAP, however, fell well short of Sellar’s ambitions for the site.
Following representations to the Inspector examining the AAP, Sellar developed a comprehensive set of proposals which involved the provision of a replacement store for Decathlon, new residential, retail, leisure and commercial uses.
The proposals, which have involved a collaboration between David Chipperfield Architects, McCreanor Lavington Architects, Claus & Kaan Architects and Vogt Landscaping, seek to realise Southwark Council’s ambitions to establish a successful town centre destination at Canada Water.
A hybrid planning consent was secured in December 2013.
