Are you passionate about places? Do you want to develop your career at a specialist consultancy with a reputation for innovative development planning and promoting good design?
Development Planner (2-3 years’ experience) /
Senior Development Planner (6+ years’ experience)
Tibbalds Planning and Urban Design has excellent opportunities for ambitious and creative-minded development planners. We are looking for a development planner (2-3 years’ experience) and a senior development planner (6+ years’ experience), preferably in private consultancy. You will have RTPI Membership or be working towards your APC.
We are a friendly, multidisciplinary practice based at London Bridge, covering planning, urban design and masterplanning. The role is focused on development planning for a wide range of private and public sector clients, mainly based in London, on an eclectic mix of projects.
Our development planners also work alongside urban designers and architects to provide advice on in-house masterplanning and regeneration projects.
What sets us apart from other practices is our strong development planning function within a design-focused practice. We are motivated by the delivery of high quality design and place-making, so it is important that you are interested in promoting good design through the planning process.
Our development planning projects range from complex, large-scale proposals such as mixed-use developments, tall buildings and cultural facilities, to estate regeneration schemes, as well as niche projects such as artist’s houses and co-working office spaces. We have an excellent client base and an expanding list of rewarding projects.
Recent recognition includes winner of the New London Architecture’s ‘New London Awards 2016’ for Somerleyton Road in the ‘Housing’ category and Hackney Wick Central in the ‘Masterplanning and Area Strategies’ category. Hackney Wick Central also received a commendation at the New London Awards 2016 for the ‘Mayor’s Prize’.
You will be enthusiastic and creative, with excellent research, communication and writing skills. You will show aptitude to think strategically and look for positive solutions to planning issues. We will expect you to have an excellent grasp of the development management process, and an analytical approach to current and emerging planning policy. At the senior development planner level you will have a strong track record of achieving planning consents for a variety of clients and be comfortable handling complex projects.
These roles are ideal for someone currently working for a mainstream planning consultancy but looking to develop their career in a smaller, more creative workplace.
We offer a range of CPD and employee benefits. We are also an employee-owned business.
We will offer a competitive salary to match your skills and experience.
To apply please follow the instructions here before 1pm on Monday 24 July 2017.
