Hilary Satchwell joins NLA Expert Panel
This week the NLA launch their 2024 expert panels and Hilary Satchwell, Director at Tibbalds, will continue to be part of the Planning Panel which plays an important role in helping shape London.
During 2023 the planning panel focussed on key topics that relate closely to Tibbalds areas of interest around:
- The proper functioning of the planning system - looking at funding for planning departments, national planning reform and its impact on London, and the role of the next London Plan;
- Embedding social value in planning – being more specific about social value gaps in planning at present and that we should be more explicit about this key role for planning, and working to establish a London wide framework that can help make sure what is delivered focusses on what communities and areas need; and
- Effective community engagement – making sure this is effective, is not ignored and considers the views and input of young people in particular.
NLA’s Planning programme looks at the rapidly changing shape of London through examining spatial and strategic plans at a local as well as London-wide level.
Each Panel will continue to develop the New London Agenda, actively engaging with the new Mayor of London and continuing to champion London!
Hilary said “I’ve really enjoyed the level of debate and discussion at the panel meetings and working through some important issues for London. It is great to be focussing on how the planning system can be used positively to deliver the change that London needs to be a robust and well planned city for all.”
