Tibbalds sign TCPA’s Healthy Homes Pledge
Tibbalds is delighted to announce that we have signed the TCPA’s Healthy Homes Pledge.
Providing homes and neighbourhoods that allow everyone to live a healthy life has been a mission of our work for a long time. It is embedded within our people-friendly ethos and reflected in a fundamental believe that our work should lead to places that support sustainability, health and wellbeing for all. Therefore, we are fully supportive of the TCPA’s mission to:
- ensure the provision of high-quality homes and places that will protect and promote all residents’ physical, mental and social wellbeing, as well as to support planetary health. As such, we commit to ensuring all new homes meet the Healthy Homes Principles.
- not to knowingly engage in any form of development, activity or decision making likely to create harm to human health.
- support the provision of genuinely affordable homes, based upon people’s ability to pay.
- ensure all residents to have defined legal protections against poor build quality, management or maintenance and landlord harassment.
Given the importance of this subject, we are pleased to see two of our projects reflected in the TCPA’s Healthy Homes technical guide for local implementation. Our work for Northstowe Phases 2 Design Code and the Bradford Homes and Neighbourhood Guide have been specifically tailored to improve the health and wellbeing of new and existing residents. These examples include strategic measures such as providing access to nature and active travel routes as well as detailed requirements of delivering regular seating opportunities and drinking fountains within the public realm.
